Sunday School

August-May we have Education for All Ages between our morning worship services (10-10:50am).

Preschool aged children learn the same story in many different ways for a month. They are taught by parents who bring together crafts, play, and story telling to help bring the lessons to life.

Kid’s Club is for K-3rd graders and meets in the “Moving Mountains” room. Using the “Deep Blue” curriculum, we explore different bible stories each week and learn how God is speaking to us today.

Club 45 is for our 4th and 5th graders. This is primarily a service learning group and they take on different mission projects each month while exploring their faith.

Worship Center

We have a worship center for children stocked with aids to help them worship better. There are coloring sheets, books to read, and play dough. These items are not meant to be a distraction, but rather a tool to help you listen for God speaking. Parents, you might wait until the sermon to use these items and encourage your child to sing and pray along with the congregation. For more tips on how to help your child learn how to worship, ask Mandy Hall (Director of Christian Formation for Children & Youth)

Child Care

Plymouth loves children and we welcome all ages to participate in worship! However, we know that for some kiddos sitting in a pew is hard. During each worship service, child care is available for children under the age of 5 years old. Our staff is well trained and they care deeply for your child’s safety and well being.

Youth Ministry

Plymouth values the ministry of youth and recognizes that Youth Ministry is more than just Youth Group. This is why we encourage youth to participate in the full life of the congregation. Our youth serve in worship leadership as deacons, liturgists, and musicians. Youth are invited to participate in all of the ‘adult’ education classes (we call them ‘adult’ classes for lack of a better name, not b/c you must be 18 or older to participate). Teenagers are encouraged to participate as leaders in the children’s ministry by leading Sunday School or helping with special events like the Easter Egg Hunt.

Middle School Youth (6th-8th Grade) meets for Sunday School during the 10am Education hour for discussion around the Bible stories and how they speak into our lives. They also meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 6:30-8:30pm for dinner, service projects, and fellowship.

High School Youth (9th-12th Grade) meet every Sunday night from 7-8:30pm for dinner and discussions around different topics related to our faith. We ask tough questions and explore the answers together, and have a lot of fun along the way.

Youth Deacon

Deacons are the lay leaders who help support the spiritual life of the congregation, and ensure that the worship services run smoothly. There is a special ministry team of Youth Deacons who serve during worship services by preparing the worship space, welcoming people, passing out bulletins, etc.

Youth Liturgists

The Liturgists is the lay person who guides the congregation through the worship service by calling us to worship, leading prayers, and reading scripture. On the second Sunday of each month we have youth serve as liturgists.

Youth Music

Youth are welcome to join the chancel choir, which rehearses on Wednesdays. There are also opportunities for youth to participate in special music offerings on the second Sunday of each month. For more info, contact jieun@plymouthucc.org
